Become Workers Approved By God |
-
Make an effort to present yourself to God as a
tried-and-true worker, who doesn’t need to be ashamed but
is one who interprets the message of truth correctly.
-
Avoid their godless discussions, because they will lead
many people into ungodly behavior, and their ideas will
spread like an infection.
-
The Lord knows the people who belong to him,
and everyone who confesses the Lord’s name must avoid
wickedness.
-
There aren’t just gold and silver bowls but also some
bowls that are made of wood and clay. Some are meant for
special uses, some for garbage. Be set apart as a “special
bowl.” Be useful for every sort of good work.
-
Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace together with
those who confess the Lord with a clean heart.
-
Avoid foolish and thoughtless discussions, since you know
that they produce conflicts.

Instructions On Worship |
-
Pray for kings and everyone who is in authority so that we
can live a quiet and peaceful life in complete godliness
and dignity.
-
This is right and it pleases God our savior, who wants all
people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the
truth.
-
Train yourself for a holy life! While physical training
has some value, training in holy living is useful for
everything. It has promise for this life now and the life
to come.
-
Set an example for the believers through your speech,
behavior, love, faith, and by being sexually pure.
-
Practice these things, and live by them so that your
progress will be visible to all.
-
Focus on working on your own development and on what you
teach. If you do this, you will save yourself and those
who hear you.
|
-
You are saved by God’s grace because of your faith. This
salvation is God’s gift. It’s not something you
possessed. It’s not something you did that you can be
proud of.
-
We are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do
good things. God planned for these good things to be the
way that we live our lives.
-
Christ is our peace. He made both Jews and Gentiles into
one group. With his body, he broke down the barrier of
hatred that divided us.
-
We both have access to the Father through Christ by the
one Spirit.
-
You are no longer strangers and aliens. Rather, you are
fellow citizens with God’s people, and you belong to God’s
household.
-
As God’s household, you are built on the foundation of the
apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the
cornerstone.
-
The whole building is joined together in him, and it grows
up into a temple that is dedicated to the Lord.
-
Christ is building you into a place where God lives
through the Spirit.
|
|
|
|
The Supremacy Of Christ |
-
The Son is the image of the invisible God
-
He existed before all things, and all things are held
together in him.
-
Present yourselves before God as a people who are holy,
faultless, and without blame.
-
Remain well established and rooted in faith.

|
Unity Of The Body Of Christ |
|
Live as people worthy of the call you received from God.
Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and
patience.
Accept each other with love, and make an effort to
preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties
you together.
You are one body and one spirit just as God also called
you in one hope.
There
is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and
Father of all who is over all, through all, and in all.
God has given his grace to each one of us measured out by
the gift that is given by Christ. His purpose
was to equip God’s people for the work of serving and
building up the body of Christ until we all reach the
unity of faith and knowledge of God’s Son.
God’s goal is for us to become mature adults—to be fully
grown, measured by the standard of the fullness of
Christ.
By speaking the truth with love, let’s grow in every way
into Christ, who is the head.
Renew the thinking in your mind by the Spirit and clothe
yourself with the new person created according to God’s
image in justice and true holiness.
Tell the truth to your neighbor because we are
parts of each other in the same body.
Don’t
let the sun set on your anger. Don’t provide
an opportunity for the devil.
Don’t let any foul words come out of your mouth.
Don’t make the Holy Spirit of God unhappy—you were sealed
by him for the day of redemption.
Put aside all bitterness, losing your temper, anger,
shouting, and slander, along with every other evil.
Be kind, compassionate, and forgiving to each other, in
the same way God forgave you in Christ.
|
|
|
|
Freedom From Human Regulations |
-
Live in Christ Jesus the Lord in the same way as you
received him.
-
Be rooted and built up in him, be established in faith,
and overflow with thanksgiving just as you were taught.
-
See to it that nobody enslaves you with philosophy and
foolish deception, which conform to human traditions and
the way the world thinks and acts rather than Christ.
-
God made you alive with Christ and forgave all the things
you had done wrong.
-
Don’t let anyone who wants to practice harsh self-denial
and worship angels rob you of the prize.

|
Rules For Holy Living |
-
Look for the things that are above where Christ is sitting
at God’s right side. Think about the things above and not
things on earth.
-
When Christ, who is your life, is revealed, then
you also will be revealed with him in glory.
-
Put to death the parts of your life that belong to the
earth, such as sexual immorality, moral corruption, lust,
evil desire, and greed
(which is idolatry).
-
Set aside anger, rage, malice, slander, and obscene
language.
-
Take off the old human nature and put on the new nature,
which is renewed in knowledge by conforming to the image
of the one who created it.
-
Christ is all things and in all people.
-
As God’s choice, put on compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience.
-
Be tolerant with each other and, if someone has a
complaint against anyone, forgive each other.
-
And over all these things put on love, which is the
perfect bond of unity.
-
The peace of Christ must control your hearts—a peace into
which you were called in one body.
-
Be a thankful people. The word of Christ must live in
you richly.
-
Teach and warn each other with all wisdom by singing
psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing to God with
gratitude in your hearts.
-
Whatever you do, whether in speech or action, do it all in
the name of the Lord Jesus and give thanks to God the
Father through him.

|
Teach All People To Be Godly |
-
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.
-
Teach the older men to be sober, dignified, sensible,
and healthy in respect to their faith, love, and
patience.
-
Teach the older women to be reverent in their behavior,
teaching what is good, rather than being gossips or
addicted to heavy drinking.
-
Encourage the younger men to be sensible in every way.
-
Offer yourself as a role model of good actions. Show
integrity, seriousness, and a sound message that is
above criticism when you teach.
-
Show that we are completely reliable in everything so
that we might make the teaching about God our savior
attractive in every way.
-
The grace of God educates us so that we can live
sensible, ethical, and godly lives right now by
rejecting ungodly lives and the desires of this world.
-
Wait for the blessed hope and the glorious appearance of
our great God and savior Jesus Christ. He gave himself
for us in order to rescue us from every kind of lawless
behavior, and cleanse a special people for himself who
are eager to do good actions.
-
Encourage and correct with complete authority. Don’t
let anyone disrespect you.
|
|
Be Imitators of God |
-
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
and live a life of love, following the example of Christ,
who loved us and gave himself for us.
-
Sexual immorality, and any kind of impurity or greed,
shouldn’t even be mentioned among you, which is right for
holy persons.
-
Obscene language, silly talk, or vulgar jokes aren’t
acceptable for believers. Instead, there should be
thanksgiving.
-
Nobody should deceive you with stupid ideas. God’s anger
comes down on those who are disobedient because of this
kind of thing.
-
You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord,
so live your life as children of light.
-
Light produces fruit that consists of every sort of
goodness, justice, and truth.
-
Therefore test everything to see what’s pleasing to the
Lord, and don’t participate in the unfruitful actions of
darkness.
-
Be careful to live your life wisely, not foolishly.
-
Don’t be ignorant, but understand the Lord’s will.
-
Don’t get drunk on wine, which produces depravity.
-
Be filled with the Spirit in the following ways: speak to
each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; sing
and make music to the Lord in your hearts; always give
thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ; and submit to each other out of
respect for Christ.

Leave The Elementary Teachings About Christ |
-
By the time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to
teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over
again, you need milk, not solid food!
-
Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not
acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But
solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have
trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
-
Leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to
maturity.
-
God isn’t unjust so that he forgets your efforts and the
love you have shown for his name’s sake when you served
and continue to serve God’s holy people.
-
Show the same effort to make your hope sure until the end.
-
Follow the example of the ones who inherit the promises
through faith and patience.
|
|
|
Put On The Armor of God
|
-
Be strengthened by the Lord and his powerful strength.
-
Put on God’s armor so that you can make a stand against
the tricks of the devil.
-
We aren’t fighting against human enemies but against
rulers, authorities, forces of cosmic darkness, and
spiritual powers of evil in the heavens.
-
Pick up the full armor of God so that you can stand your
ground on the evil day and after you have done everything
possible to still stand.
-
Stand with the Belt of Truth buckled around
your waist, the Breastplate of Righteousness
in place, and with your feet fitted with readiness that
comes from the Gospel of Peace.
-
Carry the Shield of Faith so that you can
extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.
-
Take the Helmet of Salvation and the
Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
-
Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of
prayers and requests.
-
Stay alert by hanging in there and praying for all
believers.
-
Make this secret plan of the gospel known.
